Uncontrolled anger can have negative effects on one’s health such as cardiovascular diseases, headaches, increased blood pressure, etc. In addition, anger issues also impacts one’s mental health leading to worsened anxiety and depression. Some signs of anger issues can include frequent outbursts, irritability, lack of patience, withdrawing, shutting down, belittling and more. Those with anger issues may have expectations or desires that aren’t being met which may turn to resentment as a result of being hurt, offended or rejected (WebMd, 2023).

Depression is characterized as persistent sadness. It can cause one to have lack of pleasure in things that was once pleasurable or of interest. It affects how one thinks, feels, and behaves. Those with depression may also feel hopeless (American Psychological Association, 2020).
Anxiety is characterized as excessive worrying, fear, nervousness, and apprehension. Anxiety can cause one to process their emotions in a negative way and may lead to physical symptoms such as heart palpitations, headaches, digestive issues and more (Mayo Clinic, 2018).
